The Shalimar Spice Garden Thekkady is located at a height of 800 meters at the edge of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Walk across a wooden suspension bridge into 5 acres of cool, landscaped gardens, containing palm and mango groves, nutmeg and cardamom trees, a swimming pool, Ayurvedic centre. The straw covered cottages stand in the midst of bright green spice plantations and amongst trees and plants laden with mangos, nutmeg and cardamom.
