Lansdown is a hill town comes under Pauri district of Uttarakhand. One of the favorite hill stations of India is founded by “Lord Lansdowne” a British Viceroy of India in 1887 AD, thus the town is famous since British rule. Before it named as Lansdown, it was known as ‘Kaludanda’ as local language. The Lansdown hill station is full of Oak and pine forests that make the climate pleasant and healthy.

The Lansdown town established in British period for recruitment and training of the Garhwal Rifles. However, the command office Garhwal Rifles of Indian Army is still here. The Lansdown town is well known as the cantonment area and the city is well furnished by the Garhwal Rifles.
